Many people see Linux as the outsider among operating systems, yet we all interact with Linux servers hundreds of times every day. Almost the entire infrastructure behind our smartphone apps, websites and online services runs on Linux. Linux-based high-performance computers are used in research as well. A basic understanding of the Linux shell is therefore essential if you want to work on computer-based projects or understand how our modern technology works.
BASH, the most commonly used shell language, enables efficient work and offers, for example, many options to automate time-consuming workflows. With an understanding of how Linux is built and with BASH programming skills, you can quickly learn to work with high-performance computers, servers and other programming languages. Our goal is for our participants to be able to start working with a terminal right away, without hesitation.
